Please read below the specific COVID-19 protocols, based on government guidelines, that Sawmill will implement. It is extremely important that all golfers adhere to these protocols at all times. The list is subject to change as the situation evolves. Current on April 2, 2021.
COVID-19 Protocols / Operations at Sawmill Golf Course
GENERAL
- Abide by the mandatory physical distancing requirements of at least 6 feet (2 metres) at all times.
- Self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 which include a cough, fever, and difficulty breathing. If any symptoms are felt, please go home immediately and follow the advice of public health authorities.
- Practice respiratory etiquette, including coughing and sneezing into your arm.
- Avoid common greetings, such as handshakes.
- Wash hands often and for at least 20 seconds each time. Avoid contact with face and eyes with unwashed hands.
- Use hand sanitizer - provided in the pro shop, bar and washrooms.
BEFORE GOLF
- Tee times should be booked online at www.sawmillgolf.com/book-now. No walk-ons are permitted.
- Show up only with the same number of players that you booked for.
- The washrooms in the clubhouse will be open and cleaned regularly throughout the day.
- Club storage, locker rooms and shower facilities are off-limits.
CHECKING IN
- Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your tee time (unless you’re using the practice areas)
- Payment by ‘tap’ credit/debit card and member account payments only, to eliminate handling cash.
- Please consider opening a ‘member’ account to reduce the number of transactions. All players can have a member account upon request in the Pro Shop. You can add money to this account, as needed, for purchases in the pro shop, bar, or at the Gazebo BBQ.
- Pro Shop capacity is limited to 3 customers.
- Staff will monitor the first tee and facilitate starting of all players. Please maintain physical distancing from the staff.
ON THE COURSE
- Abide by the mandatory physical distancing requirements of at least 6 feet (2 metres) at all times.
- Cups have pool noodles to prevent the ball falling to the bottom of the hole. Do not touch or remove the pins.
- There will be no bunker rakes so please smooth the sand with your foot and/or club. Play preferred lies in the bunkers.
- As always, replace all divots and fix all ball marks.
- Power Cart use:
- Members of the same household can ride together with no mask or divider.
- Golfers that do NOT live in the same household MUST wear a mask when riding in a cart. Carts must be shared
- Pull carts ($5 rental fee) are available in limited quantities.
- Pull carts and power carts will be cleaned and sanitized following each use.
- The on-course washroom is open and will be cleaned regularly.
- The water fountains will not be in use.
- Physical distancing and other safety protocols will be monitored by pro shop staff.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
- Food and beverage is available for take-out only from the bar.
- We will be serving beverages, snacks and menu items.
- There is no indoor or outdoor seating.
- No refilling of personal water bottles/cups.
- Maintain physical distancing requirements when in the bar.
- Payment by ‘tap’ credit/debit card and member account payments only, to eliminate handling cash.
AFTER GOLF
- If you used a power cart, please follow the signs to the cart return area (beside the 1st tee).
- The clubhouse washrooms are available with access from the lower level only.
DRIVING RANGE & PRACTICE AREAS
- The driving range will be open during the shutdown. will be closed until further notice.
- The practice area is also available for use.
- Maintain physical distancing requirements when using the practice areas.
